Mayor Bronin’s 7/26 Town Hall on “A Cleaner, Greener Hartford”

Join Mayor Bronin in a discussion surrounding Hartford’s efforts to becoming a more sustainable city!

Mayor Bronin’s town hall will focus on the recent activities of the Climate Stewardship Initiative, a partnership of a volunteer stakeholder organization (the Climate Stewardship Council) and the Mayor’s new  Office of Sustainability. (Click here for the CSC’s first-year report.) As a result of grants awarded to fund that Office, Mayor Bronin just hired the city’s first sustainability coordinator and green infrastructure specialist. At the town hall, he will highlight efforts made so far on drafting the city’s first climate action plan, which will identify strategies to mitigate, and adapt to, the effects of climate change in six “Action Areas” – energy, waste, water, transportation, green space, and food – while simultaneously advancing three “Shared Values” of public health, economic development, and social equity.

Let’s focus the brainpower and discussion on strengthening our efforts to create “a greener, cleaner Hartford.” The meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 26th at 6:00pm at The Lyceum, located at 227 Lawrence St, Hartford. Stay tuned for a release of the Climate Action Plan draft in the days proceeding the meeting on this website!
