CT Green Bank Wins National Award

Congratulations to the Connecticut Green Bank, a participant in the Climate Stewardship Council, for being the Harvard Kennedy School’s Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation winner of the Innovations in American Government Award for 2017. Tomorrow, July 27th from 3-5 p.m., there will be a ceremony at the Old State House (800 Main St, Hartford) to celebrate this achievement. Light refreshments will be served.

The Green Bank is an innovative state-chartered bank that offers a range of financing solutions for homeowners, business owners, multi-family property owners, municipalities, and others. The programs of the CT Green Bank have benefited Hartford residents and Hartford businesses. For example, the Solar For All Initiative, a partnership between the Connecticut Green Bank and PosiGen, offers solar leases to low-to-moderate income homeowners in Hartford. This award is truly a special honor, as there have been very few energy-environment winners of this award; the only two thus far being the Vermont Energy Efficiency Utility in 2003, and the Seattle, Washington, U.S. Conference of Mayors Climate Protection Agreement in 2007.

We can’t wait to watch the CT Green Bank continue to grow!
