As a city at the intersection of two interstate highways, Hartford has historically focused its transportation initiatives on motorized vehicles. But recent strides – including investments in expanding federal rail service, the adoption of a Complete Street ordinance, and the creation of CTfastrak corridor – have generated new enthusiasm for multi-modal transportation. Luckily, plenty of studies have been done on regional transportation systems and modes of travel. The Climate Action Plan we drafted embraces ground-up thinking that challenges the status quo on transportation and identifies opportunities for transit-oriented real estate development.
